Running – It comes from the Hips
Strength, speed and performance in running have a lot to do with the hips and how the muscles around them allow or restrict movement when you run. What happens at the hips can effect the mechanics and function of the entire leg so its a good place to start to improve your running. Generally speaking, for many amateur and new runners the injuries or pain points they get come from bad hip function, stability and/or pelvic position. (The topic of foot mechanics, e.g. severe pronation or supination and its effect on the leg for running will be covered separately and should always be checked by a specialist).
